Chiacchierare in Cucina di Liz…. ……………..what does this title mean ?
”Chiacchierare” simply means
to talk about.
In Italy this word is similar to the english expression to gossip – in a very kind and friendly way. It’s chatting about everything and anything, about everybody and about the recent news, about this and that.So this Blog stands for the moments while chatting in my kitchen and cookin’ or bakin’.Especially on fridays I do enjoy this most: the week’s troubles in my office get to an end, the office telephone calls come to an end and after 1 p.m. the office is closed. The weekend’s openin’ it’s doors, starting with short works to clean office and my home and followed by our way to the market. Taking inspiration and fresh foods and ideas for shootings as well as for receiptures. Coming back then, enjoying a cup of tea and having a silent hour or two with some food magazine or some newspaper or with an actual book on my desk. And after this little break we start to cook. That’s the time for chatting in the kitchen, chiacchierare in cucina in the way I could enjoy it while stayin’ in France, Italy oder Ireland and since I started with my work as a lawyer in Munich several years ago in an office, that has been located in one of the eldest quarters of Munich. At the end of the week I closed it at 12 a.m. , went to the kindergarden to pick up my little son and enjoyed to go around the market close to this law office. Not much time and my 3 year old son sharde my love for fresh vegetables and asked “Hey mom, the Zucchini are lookin’ fine today – what could we do with it ?” or “Mom, I’d like to have something with this leek so fine looking, what could You cook with it ?” We’ve been at home earlier than the father of my son on fridays then. We started to prepare and cut fresh vegetables, meat or other things, baking, talking about anything that had been happened during the day or perhapsthe week and what we’d like to do during the weekend time. Some 1 or 2 hours later his father joined us in the kitchen and it was like stepping in a very fine and enjoyful way into weekend and family time. Tasting what we prepared, nibbling some peace of baguette or small carrot. And sometimes this or that friend of mine stepped in to have some nice chat and snack with us in the kitchen. That ’s the atmosphere I’d like to create here in this new Blog of mine. At the same time it’s now my first blog in english language after and in addition to my german food blog SmoothBreeze7sArtPhoto and my french one Liz Collet Photographie.
Step in and enjoy to chat about all those wonderful things in “My Cucina”. Let’s chiacchierare and feel welcome to comment !
