My name is Liz and I love to cook…… better to say: I am a recipe&foodfotofetishista. That’s not my only passion. My first and second passions – beside of my family, of course – are my professional work and travelling — with a focus to isles, coasts and whenever possible in combination with sailing . One of the results of my professional activity that came along occasionally with my work as a speaker for legal and health congresses is taking photographs, sometimes during the many travels, but as well as basics for illustration of my ppt.s backgrounds during my speeches. As a surprise those illustrations have been so successful, that I simply had to continue. It became a kind of “isle” in the middle of intense professional work and working time. One of the wonderful consequences are publications of my pictures even for book covers and more.
Another consequence is a daily one: I am a Food Fetishist. Yes I confess it, I am guilty. I’m not a professional cook. But I was lucky enough to find a job during my University time in a bakery. So I’ve been able to finance my University time completely with it. I loved to keep my eyes and heart open for anything to be able to learn there. In only a short time of few weeks I was able and allowed to work even as a “solist” in several shops, where they sold the products. Most of the work there I loved the time, when working not in the shop but in the bakery and pâtisserie. I did not learn the work professionally, of course. But I am passionated with it, and I am passionated with reading cookbooks, going food shopping, hosting dinners for my family and dear friends, experimenting with new recipes and talking about food. As I am member of several associations and – what else ? – as well as that a member of a number of fotocommunities it’s only beeing a question of few time to start with my own Website and my own daily blog, to be able to answer to many of the questions or to be able to give more background information concerning recipes, foods, reading and commenting cook books and more. It’s a simple principle that none of my “Food Arts” is taken with foods only for the purpose of the photo – What You see is what I am eating, I am taking the foods in my photo works as they are. Therefore all food photographs are taken in a short time, because I dislike to eat food already cooled down. Beside of that topic I have a focus on those concerning Chess, Law, Health, Marbles, Landscapes, Cityscapes, Florals and Emotionals. And I love plain’ with ideas, words, some kind of “fine sense of humour” and the communication and dialogue with so many of those who do share simply the joy of all that and to detect the richness of creativity they possess. So – feel welcome here and to comment and let me know Your ideas and inspiring experiences.
